Born and raised in the South, Jane Macedo Yang (she/they) is a queer Chinese-Cambodian/Mexican-American filmmaker. Jane specializes in producing, cinematography, editing, and leading end-to-end video production, with a focus on crafting high-impact, story-driven content for brands and global audiences.
As the daughter of a refugee and immigrants, she is deeply committed to highlighting underrepresented voices and stories rooted in identity, community, and social impact. Her work bridges documentary storytelling with brand and product narratives, translating complex ideas into compelling humanistic visual experiences that drive engagement and connection.
Her work has been featured on an Emmy Award–winning series on PBS, Netflix, Art21, and National Geographic, with clients including Delta, American Express, and Fair Fight Action. Jane is a member of the Documentary Cinematographers Alliance, Video Consortium, Brown Girls Doc Mafia, and A-Doc.
Jane is based in Brooklyn, and is currently working as Senior Filmmaker for the company and brand, AlphaSense.
